JFD281: Dude Bro Party Massacre 3, The Giant Claw, She-Devil

Junk Food Dinner's back and things are gonna get schwifty.

First, a group of frat bros deal with a slasher in the 2015 fake 80s movie "Dude Bro Party Massacre 3." Made by the guys behind 5 Second Movies, this movie flips the gender switch and has a female stalker slash up a bunch of frat bros in emulated 80s fashion.

Next, an extra terrestrial kaiju bird made of anti-matter attacks New York in 1957's "The Giant Claw." The flick is remembered for its horrible bird creature. But should it be remembered for more?

Finally, Roseanne Barr plots revenge on her husband and his mistress in 1989's "She Devil." Roseanne's husband, Ed Begley Jr, meets Meryl Streep at a party and they fall in love. So, Roseanne becomes the Punisher. But if gangsters were people who had fallen out of love.

All this, plus work chat, controversial opinions, DVDS, Blu Rays, Memphis Maniacs and one of your hosts reaches the breaking point.

JFD280: Mischief, Death Promise, Birds of Prey (AKA Beaks: The Movie)

This week JFD brings you the three B's: boners, badasses and birds!

Up first, we're transported back to Ohio in the 1950's, where two high school kids (Doug McKeon and Chris Nash) fall in love with two foxy broads (Kelly Preston and Catherine Mary Stewart) and desperately try to get laid in the often overlooked sex-comedy Mischief from 1985.

Then, we take a trip to shithole 70's New York City, where greedy landlords are trying to force Charley (Charles Bonet) and the other tenants out of their crummy apartment in order to raise the rent. But when the fat cats have Charley's father killed, he teams up with his pal (Speedy Leacock) to get sweet, sweet revenge in Death Promise from 1977.

And finally, René Cardona Jr, director of Tintorera: Killer Shark, tells the tale of what would happen if birds mysteriously started attacking people (gee, where did he get that idea?). Christopher Atkins (the cretin from Blue Lagoon) and Michelle Johnson (the chick from Waxwork) play reporters traveling the globe to figure out what's causing this birdemic in Birds of Prey (AKA Beaks: The Movie) from 1987.

All this plus autumn snax chat, working from home, blu-rays, Nerd News, Kyle from Kentucky, movies shot on cell phones, boner memories and so much more!

JFD279: Walking Tall (2004), The Birds II: Land's End (1994), Rollerball (2002)

Last week we covered a trio of respected cult classics, and this week we tackle their remakes. With the second time be a charm? Or will we encounter some sophomore slumps? Tune in and we'll find out together.

First up! WWE Films debut feature remakes the story of Buford Pusser, a former professional wrestler-turned-Sheriff in rural Tennessee with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Only this time, he's an ex-marine in the Pacific Northwest, and his name's Chris Vaughn. Oh, and Johnny Knoxville was there. For some reasons? It's the 2004 remake of Walking Tall!

Up next! Sean might've "Freado'd his pick" this week, but if you're really into Lifetime Channel movies, this might've been a smart gambit. It's the 1994 TV movie The Birds II: Land's End, starring a guy who takes his shirt off! Set in the same house as the original, with pretty much the same plot as the original, this sequel features marital difficulties and soft-lens photography. It's emotional!

Finally! If you don't remember who Chris Klein is, be prepared to get painfully reintroduced to his filmography via 2002's Rollerball remake! Reconfigured to take place in the present-day "Central Asia" instead of a dystopian future, this remake resembles the original mostly in name only. Paul E. Dangerously is the color commentator - does that do anything for you? It's a movie.

All this plus witty banter between friends, Nerd News, DVDs, Downer's Grove chats, hot plates chats, a caller from West Virginnie, hhoul innovations from The Ghoulfather, the sweetest caller in Podcast Town, Goonies LARPing, relaxing entertainment, Sk-krrzz-zz-kype N-rrrzz-oise, a couple guys who worked on Franco, a whole lot of night-vision, absolute confidentiality, continued lack of police involvement, sneezes, belches, gleeks and a whole lot more!

JFD278: Walking Tall, The Birds, Rollerball

Junk Food Dinner. 278.

Part one of an epic 2-parter is here as we talk cult classics. This week, we'll be talking about the original classics and come back next week as we watch their remakes.

First, Joe Don Baker plays Buford T. Pusser as he takes on Tennessee's crime and corruption in "Walking Tall" from 1973. This movie is based on the real life of a pro wrestler turned sheriff who fought off the Dixie Mafia and other corrupt baddies.

Next, the people of Bodega Bay are besieged by feathered fiends in "The Birds." This Alfred Hitchcock classic kicks off "SeptemBIRD," Sean's month-long journey into fowl territory.

Finally, James Caan slaps on some skates for fun and for violence in 1975's "Rollerball." It's the future and the world is run by corporations who want to crush the world's last might hero.

All this, plus DVDs, Nerd News, Sad Nerd News, Did Parker kill Wes Craven?, Podcast Town Chat, Weird new outros, new bumpers, classics for us to hate, Fury Road Chat, Wayne calls in with some N-Bombs, Memphis Maniacs and so much more!
