JFD311: Double Agent 73 (Audio Commentary)

Hey, Junkies! We're reviewing our 900th movie this week. Where does the time go, eh? The movie was chosen by you guys. And you chose Doris Wishman's Double Agent 73 (1974)... because you're perverts.

WARNING: This is not a normal episode of JFD. We're doing a full audio commentary for the movie, so if this is your first time with JFD, try a different episode. Also, it makes sense to get a copy of the movie to watch along with us, otherwise when we say stuff like, "Would ya look at those hooters!" you won't know what hooters we're talking about.

JFD310: The All American Hustler, Dead Kids, It's Called Murder, Baby

This week, Kevin's out, so in his place we welcome Joe Rubin from cult film preservation and releasing company Vinegar Syndrome to discuss three flicks currently available on their streaming service Exploitation.tv

Up first, is an early underground porno film, with very little known about it, The All American Hustler from 1972. This flick features some early 70's L.A., cropped-in sex scenes, depression and heroin use.

Next, we take a look at Dead Kids (AKA Strange Behavior) from 1981. As the title would imply, this horror mystery involves slews of youngers in a small Midwestern town getting snuffed out, but who's doing it and why?

And finally, we explore It's Called Murder, Baby (AKA Dixie Ray Hollywood Star in it's X-rated form) from 1983. This sexy, low-budget comedy thriller mixes early 80's exploitation with 50's noir.

All this plus witty banter between friends, a behind the scenes look at the acquiring and preservation of lost exploitation movies, a voicemail from The South, depressed boners, L.A. geography, continued lack of police involvement  and a whole lot more!

JFD309: Santa Sangre, Jerkbeast, Malibu Beach

It's the episode with everything. So many things. All of the surprises. You're going to go wild for this episode. We guarantee it.

First up! Severed arms, acid-bath castrations, transgendered luchadores, cocaine & dwarves collide in 1989's Santa Sangre from legendary freak-out king Alejandro Jodorowsky! Part art film, part giallo, and all weirdness, it's called "Jodorowsky's most accessible film", which is really saying something, right? We definitely spoil the crap out of the ending, so go ahead and watch this one before the show.

Up next! Loud-mouthed public access monster Jerkbeast gets his own self-titled movie from 2005. Tour our beautiful nation with the Jerkbeast himself as loud things are yelled and hardcore punk music is played. It's a movie, sort of.

Finally! We hit the beach with the spoiled brats of Malibu in director Robert J. Rosenthal's largely forgotten laid-back seaside hang-out picture, Malibu Beach from 1978. It's like a Van Nuys Boulevard (another Crown International Picture) set slightly west. Who could forget that Dugan?

All this plus witty banter between friends, taking it to the d-box, Harrison Ford hot-takes, a certain man of sweetness, supermodel horrors, porn piracy politics, Sean drops a surprise, parker's relaxation preference, Nerd News & DVD Picks, continued lack of overt police involvement, sneezes, belches, gleeks and a whole lot more!

JFD308: Fitzcarraldo, Buckaroo Banzai, Freddy Got Fingered

We're back, Junkies! We're celebrating our 6th anniversary this week with a doozy of an episode. Instead of Nerd News and DVDs, we're running down our Top and Bottom 5 movies we've done this year. What movies did we like best? And what Ghoul Summer movies did we hate the most? Find out.

Then, we hit the movies. First up, Klaus Kinski is a crazed German who wants to bring the opera to Peruvian natives in "Fitzcarraldo" from 1982. Werner Herzog tells this true-life tale of a dude who dragged a boat over a mountain by actually dragging a boat over a mountain.

Next, Peter Weller is a scientist and a rock n roller in "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension." This is probably JFD's most requested movie of all time.

Finally, Tom Green writes, directs and stars in a tale of following your dreams and playing with horse peens in 2001's "Freddy Got Fingered."

All this, plus voicemails, Memphis Maniacs, crummy computers, visits from Wayne, Batman vs Superman Chat and so much more!
