JFD361: White of the Eye, Prince of Darkness, Shock 'em Dead

We're back with a game-changing, life-affirming episode, Junkies!

Our man Hatless Jackson Stewart joins us to discuss a fateful concert in LA where Parker, Sean, Jackson, Wife and Travis from GwarCast saw the immortal Corey Feldman LIVE. Did we find out what was up with the youth? Tune in to find out!

As for Nerd News and DVDs, there's only one piece hot enough for this episode. Jackson's movie, "Beyond the Gates" drops on Blu Ray and DVD this week, featuring an audio commentary track by the Junk Food Dinner boys! Go buy it!

As for movies, we're doing three picked by our Junk Food Dinner Patreon Pals this week. Speaking of Patreon, our first 2-hour bonus episode just dropped for $5 patrons. Go check it out at Patreon! First, a woman learns that her stereo equipment-installing husband may be a killer in "White of the Eye."

Next, a group of scientists and priests learn that Satan may be imprisoned in the basement of a local church in John Carpenter's "Prince of Darkness."

Finally, Traci Lords stars in "Shock em Dead," a film about a guitar player who sells his soul to an old voodoo lady to become a rock god.

JFD360: Hero at Large, Problem Child, Stay Tuned

Come and knock on our door, junkies, as we celebrate the life and career of one of the most likable dudes ever, John Ritter as we explore some of his goofy flicks.

Up first, Ritter plays a struggling actor in New York City who moonlights cosplaying as a superhero to help promote a new movie based on the character, but when he stops a robbery of a bodega in costume, the city gets Captain Avenger fever and Ritter has to decide if he wants to continue the superhero act in Hero at Large from 1980.

Then, John Ritter and Amy Yasbeck play a childless couple who can't have kids but when they decide to adopt they get more than they bargained for when their adopted child turns out to be sadistic bastard in 1990's Problem Child.

And finally, John Ritter plays a TV-obsessed husband and father who gets himself and his wife sucked into a hellish TV world filled with unholy parodies of pop culture when he purchases a TV off a minion of Satan himself (Jeffrey Jones) in Stay Tuned from 1992.

All this plus witty banter between friends, listener voicemails, insight into Parker's fuck style, Nerd News, new MST3k chat,  Fast & Furious vs Star Wars, Blu-ray Picks, Monchichis, continued lack of overt police involvement, and a whole lot more!

JFD359: Mudhoney, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Supervixens

It's Russ Meyer week, and naturally we're busting out of our tops along with the lovely ladies of the rural Fellini! So button up your blouse and get ready to hit the road, we've got some flicks to discuss.

First up! An early Russ Meyer effort pairs him with cinematographer Walter Schenk, who'd go on to lens Faster Pussycat. But who cares about Dutch angles when we've got American titties on display? It's a back country bra burning barn stormer! Of course we're talking 1965's Mudhoney!

Next! In what can likely be called Roger Ebert's cinematic low-point, and likely John Lazar's most titillating performance, we meet up with Russ Meyer in his sole big-budget studio production - a strange pseduosequel/parody of a well-known but not particularly well-loved teen drug drama. It's OUR happening and it freaks US out, man! We go Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (from 1970), and some of us may never come back!

Finally, Charles Napier shows up and things really go to shit. A later period Russ Meyer flick finds him fixated on Looney Tunes style cartoon gaffes, and of course, a wholesome dose of big-ass boobs. It's a film experience none of us could ever forget, nor would we want to. It's the incomparable Supervixens from 1975.

All this plus witty banter between friends, the rudest titties of any JFD of all time, more Patreon shilling, Ricky's SXSW report, a double dose of news sadness, cartoons that harshed our mellow, them weekly news and Blu-ray Picks, continued lack of overt police involvement, dry sneezes, wet belches, mega-decrepit erections, partially hydrogenated gleeks and a whole lot more!

JFD358: Hugo the Hippo, American Drive-In, True Romance

We're back with three movies and some big news about the show, junkies!

First, an evil Sultan imports hippos to wage a war against nazi sharks in the trippy 1975 kids' cartoon, "Hugo the Hippo."

Next, a group of misfits go to see a zombie movie at a drive in. Hijinx ensue. And so does rape for some reason. In 1985's "American Drive In."

Finally, two young lovers leave Detroit with a bag full of cocaine and turn up in Hollywood looking to make enough to run away together in the Quentin Tarantino-penned "True Romance."

All this, plus big news, begging for money, DVDs, Nerd News, Ridley Scott sucks, Our parents come home early, Mr. Mabowow, junk mails and so much more!
