JFD106: Cabin in the Woods, Father's Day, Mother's Day
Junk Food Dinner #106 is about to crawl in your ears and lay eggs in your brain!
After a long nerd out session, we settle in for an evening of debate (kind of)!
Up first, 5 friends go on a vacation to a domicile in the forest and what starts as a dream vacation quickly turns into a SCREAM SLAYCATION. Something like that anyway. We dig our heels in and butt heads (sort of) over 2012's CABIN IN THE WOODS from Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon.
Next, it's a trip to the Great White North with a quick stop in Tromaville. There's a serial killer on the loose and no dad is safe. Born out of a fake trailer and made on a budget of $10,000, Astron 6's FATHERS DAY (also from this year) burns a hole in our brains and hearts.
Finally, we extend our stay in Tromaville indefinitely as we take a look at Charles Kaufman's 1980 cult clas-sick MOTHER'S DAY about a pair of backwoods brothers and their sweet, loving, psychotic mother. When a trio of old friends stumble into their territory it's a fight for survival and a test of the limits of friendship.
All this plus witty banter between friends, glitchy Skype noise, fussing, fighting, carrying on, soundboard antics, Junk Mail, DVD & Blu-ray releases, Nerd News and so much more!
