JFD703: The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Rhinestone, Dolly Dearest

This month on Junk Food Dinner, we pay homage to the late, great Dolly Parton by taking a look at two of her films and one film that has her first name in the title.

Up first, Dolly is the head madam at an iconic brothel in the Lone Star State and is having a romantic affair with the local sheriff (Burt Reynolds). All is god until an investigative reporter (Dom DeLuise) threatens to expose their operation in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas from 1982.

Then, Dolly bets her career (and her ass) that she can turn anyone into a country singer, even a New York City cab driver (Sylvester Stallone) in Rhinestone from 1984, directed by Bob Clark.

And finally, when a family buys a doll factory in Mexico, they get more than they bargained for when one of the dolls is possessed by ancient Mayan demon spirits in Dolly Dearest from 1991.
