JFD392: Cape Fear (1991), The Shaft (2001), Death Note (2017)

Haven't we been this way before? If this podcast lineup is sounding a little familiar, it's because this week we take a look at three of the most outrageous and interesting REMAKES we could find!

First up! Cling onto your undercarriage, counselors. Things are getting tough and Nick Nolte is pushed to do some morally and legally questionable things to Robert De Niro in Martin Scorsese's sorta-goofy remake of the classic thriller Cape Fear (this time, from 1992)! And we review it!

And then! Week two of our Merry Dick Maas celebration! Last week, we all got Lifted with The Lift from 1983. This week, we're all getting Shafted with The Shaft from 2001! Take the freight car down to our spooky basement podcat recording studio where we'll regale you with tales of rollerblading gone awry and debate precisely which Dick Maas film is the canonical killer elevator flick.

Finally Willem Dafoe provides the voice for the shadowy Ryuk (as in, you can't see him) in 2017's Death Note remake, directed by Adam Wingard and released on Netflix. And that's just about all we need to talk about for this one!

All this plus witty banter between pals, those little Motorhead dots, Welf is a nice man and Parker braves the stores, poor Travis gets stood up, Parker never said that, real rich dudes dropping some paper on some papers, completely opposed views on Dick Maas movies, our weekly news and Blu-ray Picks, funny Skype business, no audible mention of police involvement, all-wet sneezes, super-mega belches, no rides offered or given, sandpaper armpit farts, it's a podcast, snide-ways glances, lotsa fat vegetable gleeks and a whole lot more!
