JFD583: The Bad News Bears, BASEketball, Battlefield Baseball
As we wind down summer, we reflect on America's past time with three unconventional movies about baseball!
Up first, Walter Matthau plays a drunk who's tasked with coaching a little league team filled with misfits and losers, including Tatum O'Neal and Jackie Earle Haley in The Bad News Bears from 1976.
Then, David Zucker (Airplane, Naked Gun) teams up with Trey Parker and Matt Stone (South Park) to tell the tale of two losers who invent a new game that combines baseball and basketball and end up going pro with it in BASEketball from 1998.
And finally, the Japanese take baseball to the extreme in this story about a world where the game isn't just for fun, but it's life and death in Battlefield Baseball from 2003.
All this plus updates on the JFD boys favorite teams, Killer Klowns in Spirit Halloween, Kevin's adventures at the drive-in, news about the new Texas Chainsaw flick and the new Paranormal Activity installment, freaky blu-rays and so much more.
