JFD594: Altered States, Hard Core Logo, Breakdown

We're handing over the reigns again to our beloved Patreon Pals this week, and they've selected a trio of wild cult flicks for us to watch and discuss!

Up first! It's 1980's Altered States, Ken Russell's psychedelic freak-out flick starring a young John Hurt and multi-eyed goat. Listen for our third eyes opening about halfway through the review. (appreciate the pick, Zach!)

Next up! Those wacky Canadians sure do know how to make a mockumentary, eh? It's Quentin Tarantino's favorite punk canucksploitation travelogue, Hard Core Logo (from 1996). Sure, the title is god-awful, but the movie must be better, right? (thanks for picking it, Randy!)

Finally! Of course, it's 1997's Breakdown, the wife-snatching Kurt Russell nailbiter with the killer RV/truck crash sequence. How in the world we never review this until now is beyond us. (we see you, Brendon!)

All this plus a shirt-rippin' good time at the Warhammer table, printed puritanical propaganda, a nose full of meat, shout outs to Hollywood Chinese & John Tarzan, a burp or two, Kevin Mossman's never-ending Horror-themed Restaurants tour, no funny raggamuffins, nerd news and even more! Recorded live-to-tape on National Check Your Wipers Day, 2021!!
