JFD649: The Life And Adventures Of Santa Claus, Max Headroom's Giant Christmas Turkey, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
Happy Holidays, Junkies! JFD closes out the year with our annual holiday extravaganza where we'll be looking at three Christmas specials with some decidedly weird elements to them.
Up first, the final Rankin & Bass stop-motion Christmas special is a weird one. In The Life And Adventures Of Santa Claus from 1985 we find out Santa's origin story contains wizards, fairies, ape monsters and a tri-clops!
Next, once-popular AI spokesman Max Headroom hosts a very British holiday special with appearances by Dave Edmunds and Tina Turner in Max Headroom's Giant Christmas Turkey from 1986.
And finally, Disney tries to get us hyped for the next installment of Guardians franchise with a Christmas special featuring appearances by The Old 97's and Kevin Bacon in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special from 2022.
