Then they discuss The Great Buddha Arrival from 2018 directed by Hiroto Yokokawa. The movie is a remake of (and sequel to) a 1934 lost kaiju movie. In it, a filmmaker tries to discover the truth about a film that shows a real-life statue of Buddha getting up and walking through town. While doing so, history seems to repeat. The film also stars many faces from past Godzilla and Gamera movies.
