JFD701: Ladybug Ladybug, Cannonball Run II, Mermaid Legend

Junk Food Dinner is back for another month of diving into the deepest depths of cult movies as we examine three films that couldn't be more different from one another!

Up first, the horrors of the Cold War strike an elementary school when an air raid alarm goes off and the students and faculty are unsure if this a drill or the real thing in Frank and Eleanor Perry's Ladybug Ladybug from 1963.

Next, Burt, Dom and much of the cast of the original return for another cross-country road race with more wacky hijinks and crash-ups in Hal Needham's Cannonball Run II from 1983.

And finally, a woman seeks revenge after the murder of her husband at the hands of greedy land developers in Toshiharu Ikeda's Mermaid Legend from 1984.

All this plus Gathering of the Juggalos chat, what movies we've been watching in theaters, voicemails from the homies, Last Summer gets a blu-ray release, A.I. continues to suck, the hottest toy mash-ups we can look forward to in 2026 and so much more!
