JFS122: Pi (1998)
You love math, right? We presume that you do, and that's precisely why we're reviewing Darren Aronofsky's debut feature Pi, from 1998. That's Pi, like the number (not PI, like the detective, nor pie, like the dessert). But don't worry, even if you hate math, the movie's got plenty of self-mutilation and phantom traincars. But before that! Parker and Sean break down the release calendar and chat about every single movie coming out in theaters in July of 2026.
So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus Twin Peaks jokes, residual smoke damage, rooting for a full-on Blade Runner situation (atmospherically), proximity to sea lions, an in-depth exploration of the direct-to-cruise-ship film sales marketplace, shout out Barone's Pizza (Valley Glen), points on the backend, occasional World Cup fireworks in the distant background, don't droppy that floppy (diskettes), semi-checked nosedrips, crocodile tears, blank stares, squeeky chairs, phantom gleeks and so much more!!
Recorded live-to-tape from a surreal cliff-top on World Cup Day Umpteen, 2026~!
