JFS128: Monkeybone (2001)
Junk Food Supper is back and ready to review the potentially-cursed mostly-live-action 2001 feature Monkeybone, from famed animation director Henry Selick! It's that one where Brendan Fraser plays a comic book artist with a boner shaped like a stop-motion animated monkey. Actually true!
So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus redacted spoilers about The Descent, bogus thread counts, the perils of internet commerce, Swayze chats by way of Roadhouse (RIP Dory Funk Jr), Parker's surprising pick for scariest movie he's ever seen, bootleg Sifls, the incredible shooting prowess of Tyler Perry, a detailed dissection of the "WrongVerse", Parker's problematic September cinematic picks provoke mild outrage among his cohost, additional minor redactions throughout and so much more!!
Recorded live-to-tape from rat-infested waters!~!
Important disclaimer: at one point in the episode, Sean mistakenly asserts Suburban Commando was partially filmed in the Encino neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California. We'd like to clarify the filming actually took place in the adjacent neighborhood of Tarzana.
